When you run GrandBackup for the first time, it will launch the Initialization Wizard (you can also launch it manually by clicking on Tools -> Initialization Wizard) which will help you to quickly and comfortably configure the basic settings. You can choose how the program will run - minimized at system startup (in the background with the icon in the system tray), or as a normal application when it is needed (you can change this behavior afterwards in the Preferences - Startup and Shutdown dialog); you can enable audio notifications (two sound themes are available), etc.
The Wizard will finish by offering you to create a new backup Task (all the settings of a particular backup/synchronization job are stored as the properties of the so-called Task) with the help of the New Task dialog (invoked manually as Task -> New...) or, if you have been using an earlier version of this software, to import your existing Tasks (Tools -> Task Import Wizard... is the manual alternative).
If you opt for automatic startup (recommended), GrandBackup will run
in the background and perform its Tasks automatically if they are so configured.
You can right-click on the GrandBackup icon in the system tray for a
menu of available commands.
When you double-click the icon, the GrandBackup main window opens.
Above we have described the most basic features of GrandBackup to get
you started. However, GrandBackup offers much more. Please read the documentation
to learn more about the powerful features of GrandBackup and discover
how you can customize it to suit your preferences!
